Strange Talk bundle

Wind-up Welcomes STRANGE TALK to the Family!

We are starting the Summer off right, as Wind-up has officially added Australia's indie-pop group, Strange Talk, to the family. Already having grabbed the #1 spot on the blog charts, Strange Talk will release their self-produced debut album, Cast Away, in the States on August 20, 2013.

You should probably get your dancing shoes worn in early, though, so go ahead and download a free song here and pre-order the new album here or pick up the EP on iTunes here! And if you're the kind of person that wears shirts, we have some exclusive tees are also available with the pre-order!

Critical acclaim has circulated early and often around Strange Talk, as Rolling Stone in Australia recently gave Cast Away a whopping four out of five star review, describing it as "Equal parts Cut Copy and Daft Punk with pinches of Eighties pop, Strange Talk's album is a fizzy cocktail of synths, breathy vocals and tinny drums."

Strange Talk has drawn comparisons to Passion Pit, MGMT, and Vampire Weekend, in addition to having played shows with The Rapture and Neon Indian and Foster The People.  Good enough company? We think so too.

The band will also be coming to the US for some shows in August, so stay tuned to the band online in the meantime for updates on music, tour dates, remixes, videos & more at http://www.strangetalkmusic.com

Midnight Cinema Announces Self-Titled EP, 7/9 + FREE SONG

NEW YORK, NY (May 31, 2013) – If the names Clayton Stroope (Vocals), Drew Cribley (Guitar) and Paul Niedermier (Drums)  sound familiar, it’s because you’ve heard them before.  The Bay Area band Midnight Cinema is a reincarnation of sorts of the Gold selling band Thriving Ivory and will release their self-titled debut EP on July 9, 2013.

All of the songs on the five-track EP cover the spectrum of the ins and outs of relationships, love and life (track listing below).  And beginning today, you can get a free track “Hurricane” from their upcoming EP on Midnight Cinema’s website.

After having huge success with Thriving Ivory and following their self-titled Wind-up Records debut album on June 24, 2008 - the album reached #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart on the strength of certified Gold single "Angels on the Moon,” selling over 500,000 copies; they were also chosen by VH1 as a “You Oughta Know” artist, and their second studio album, Through Yourself & Back Again which was released on September 14, 2010.

Their relentless touring schedule took a toll on the band and while on the road in support of Through Yourself & Back Again, personal issues arose and founding member Scott Jason decided to part ways with the band.  The remaining three band members continued with the tour. It was during a stop in New York when Clayton, Drew and Paul met with Gregg Wattenberg and Derek Fuhrmann for a writing session.  Subsequent sessions followed; they felt they something special immediately starting to build and with this new burst of adrenaline and creativity, Midnight Cinema was born.

Midnight Cinema will make their debut with a special performance at Café Du Nord in San Francisco on July 23, 2013.
